Who We Are:Community Counseling and Mediation (CCM) is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children and families through innovative behavioral health, supportive housing, education, and youth services. Our six NYS-licensed mental health clinics, located in Brooklyn and Midtown Manhattan, provide culturally sensitive and comprehensive care to diverse communities.
Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic psychotherapists to join our clinics in Brooklyn or Manhattan. This full-time position primarily serves children (ages 10+), adolescents, families, and adults. The role requires flexibility, including some evening hours until 8PM, with Saturday availability strongly preferred.
At CCM, we prioritize professional growth and support by offering clinical supervision and opportunities to accrue clinical hours toward licensing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnoses using culturally sensitive, evidence-based approaches.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to address mental health, substance abuse, and related challenges.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities.
- Deliver psychoeducation to clients and families on conditions, coping strategies, and self-care techniques.
- Offer crisis intervention and support during acute psychiatric emergencies.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, counselors, social workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with CCM and OMH guidelines.
- Participate in supervision, case conferences, and team meetings to support professional development and quality care.
- Adhere to ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and respecting client autonomy.
- Connect clients with community resources and facilitate referrals as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Social Worker in New York State (LCSW or LMSW required).
- Experience providing mental health counseling, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities for mental health and substance use treatment.
- Proficient in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Competent in maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Ability to work on-site and remotely as needed.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
