The Outreach Coordinator for the Black Incentive Program is responsible for the strategic engagement and mobilization of community members, elected officials, and key stakeholders in support of NYUL's Black Incentive Program. This role is central to improving the lives of Black New Yorkers by recruiting participants for civic engagement workshops and community convenings, and by assisting in the delivery of the program's culturally responsive curriculum. The Coordinator ensures high-quality participation and contributes directly to the program's measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Community Mobilization & Recruitment: Lead the recruitment efforts for the Black Incentive Program, specifically responsible for recruiting participants for the Civic Engagement Workshops and the Curriculum Pilot Cohort (25 participants).
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage community members, elected officials, and other key stakeholders to promote the program's goals and build strong partnerships.
• Community Convenings: Work with a supervisor to coordinate and host at least four community convenings per year (one per quarter) to engage at least 100 community members in discussions related to health, wealth, or civic engagement.
• Workshop Support: Assist in hosting six civic engagement workshops per year (one every other month) designed to develop at least 30 emerging community leaders and educate 100 residents on their civic rights and responsibilities.
• Curriculum Delivery: Receive training and assist in delivering the culturally responsive Civic Engagement curriculum tailored to the Black experience.
• Documentation & Reporting: Track measurable outcomes, including attendance records, participant engagement, and feedback, for inclusion in final program reports.
• Program Alignment: Support program and agency-wide initiatives, ensuring all outreach activities align with NYUL’s mission and commitment to equity.
• Other Duties as Assigned

What We're Looking For:
• 3+ years of experience in community organizing, outreach, or engagement, preferably in a nonprofit or civic environment.
• Proven success in recruiting and mobilizing large groups of community members for programs or events.
• Strong communicator with experience building trusting relationships with people from diverse socio-economic, racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
•Knowledge and passion for issues related to civic engagement, health, and wealth in the Black community.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple events and recruitment pipelines simultaneously.
• Ability to work in the field and travel throughout NYC to meet with stakeholders and participants.
• Proficiency in MS Office and database management for tracking participant data.
