The Youth Development Project (YDP) is in need of a bilingual (Spanish) school-based therapist who will be responsible for providing mental health services including diagnostic assessments, individual, group, and family psychotherapy to enable clients to reach and maintain optimal levels of functioning. Our population consists of youth who are impacted by a wide range of diagnoses, and so a strong clinical foundation is a must.

The therapist on the YDP team will regularly consult with school personnel to serve the clients’ needs and will build strong relationships within the school and the greater Santa Monica community.

Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Licensed Clinical Therapist LCSW/LMFT provides clinical therapeutic services including bio-psycho-social assessments, mental status examinations, diagnosing using DSM and ICD, therapeutic treatment planning, and psycho-therapy with children, adolescents, adults, parents and families. Services include treatment of clients with DSM mental health diagnoses through various modalities of psycho-therapy including individual, family and/or group therapy as well as case management and outreach services. Therapy is provided utilizing various evidenced based practices.

Required qualifications:

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school
Or
Master's Degree (MA) in accredited Marriage & Family Therapy Program
upon hire: California Clinical Social Worker License. Or
upon hire: California Marriage and Family Therapist License.
Bi-Lingual (Spanish)

Preferred qualifications:

2 years Post M.S.W. work.
Department of Mental Health experience.
Community mental health experience
