Over 129 years ago Five Acres was founded as an orphanage for homeless children. Today, we offer an array of services including residential care and education, mental health services in homes and schools, foster care and adoptions, deaf services and domestic violence prevention. Five Acres' Mission Five Acres promotes safety, well-being and permanency for children and their families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities. Values Accountability, Collaboration, Commitment, Compassion, Integrity, Leadership Five Acres is the oldest non-sectarian child abuse and neglect prevention, treatment and education center in the San Gabriel Valley (California) and has been accredited by the internationally recognized Council on Accreditation since 1957.
