We are currently hiring Social Workers (various shifts) for our soon-to-open Support and Connection Center - a first of its kind in the Bronx. The Support and Connection Center is a new entity type offering a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use disorder services to individuals referred by NYPD. The center will provide 24/7/365 client-centered, short stay, engagement and stabilization/treatment alternative for people who are experiencing non-emergency psychiatric symptoms, drug use and/or non-emergency medical issues. The Samaritan Daytop Village’s Support Center will provide true integration of Mental Health, Substance Use, and Medical Care to individuals in need of support.
In this role you will:
The Social Worker is responsible for providing a variety of clinical services including: individual and specialized group counseling to meet the needs of persons served, intake/screening assessments for program applicants, crisis counseling and family counseling. Conducts psychosocial assessments, mental health/mental status examinations and makes treatment planning recommendations as well as internal and external client referrals. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village
What qualifications do you need:.
Master’s Degree in Social Work.
LMSW required, LCSW strongly preferred.
Minimum of one-three (1-3) year demonstrated clinical experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment.
In depth knowledge of NYC diverse network of medical and behavioral health care organizations, including substance use disorders, treatment services, education and employment services, and non-traditional community support groups.
Available to work a flexible schedule and be able to work all three shifts as needed in response to participant and staff needs.
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR.
Ability to main confidentiality.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
