Supervisor, Adult Day Services
Salary: $40,753
The Arc of Union County, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc serves more than 1,000 adults and children each month from the 21 towns in Union County, as well as the greater Northern and Central NJ counties.
Summary: responsible to ensuring the delivery of quality person centered services to all assigned service recipients in accordance with the Agency’s goals of “Person Centered Planning” and within the guidelines of all Agency and DDD policies and procedures. Oversight of Day Habilitation programming providing education and training to acquire the skills and experience needed to participate in the community, consistent with the participant’s Service Plan. This include activities supporting participants with building problem-solving skills, self-help, social skills, adaptive skills, daily living skills, and leisure skills. Oversight on Day Habilitation programming engaging service recipient’s in-group outings to the community, leisure, educational activities and community experiences. Is responsible for building a staffing team and supervision of Day Habilitation Support Professionals assigned to their program(s), Staff development, evaluation of staff and the recommendation and implementation of personnel actions when necessary. Assuring staff compliance with agency, DDD, DHS Certification standards, CARF, and other applicable regulations, policies and procedures. The Supervisor, Day Habilitation will maintain the program in acceptable practice and appropriate condition at all times for full Certification (Day Habilitation Certification), full accreditation by CARF etc.
Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency in Windows software, Ability to use a data entry software such as Therap. Requires excellent interpersonal and conceptual skills. Strong management, leadership, planning and communication skills required. Demonstrate ability to manage information effectively. Ability to motivate staff, take responsibility for supervisory actions and establish quality controls. Knowledge of Fee for Service model system required. Must have basic math and computer skills.
Minimum of one-year supervisory experience, plus three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities; experience in Day Habilitation Program is a plus. Demonstration of a thorough understanding of knowledge, abilities and skills outlined above. Flexibility and sense of humor. Demonstrated ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced and demanding environment.
