CAMBA operates six homeless shelters and a drop-in center funded by the New York City Department of Homeless Services. Each shelter offers clients a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug-free facility. Homeless (often mentally-ill and substance-abusing) men and women are provided with comprehensive services to stabilize their condition in order to successfully transition into to permanent and/or supported housing. Specifically, CAMBA’s Atlantic House Men’s Shelter, The Park Slope Shelter for Women, The Broadway House Women’s Shelter, The Gathering Place is a Brooklyn Drop-In Center. CAMBA’s Opportunity House, CAMBA’s Magnolia House and CAMBA’s Rising Up Men’s Shelter.

Position: Senior Vice President, Single Adult Shelter Services
Reports To: Executive Vice President, Homeless and Family Support Services
Location: 955 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11226 (this position also travels to CAMBA shelter locations throughout Brooklyn)

What The Senior Vice President Does:
Direct, develop, and coordinate services among six single adult shelter locations and a drop-in center.
Participate in the preparation of proposals and the negotiation process for contracts and/or subcontracts.
Understand all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staff, including CAMBA and funder policies, regulatory requirements, guidelines, and program performance targets.
Conduct one-on-one weekly supervision of direct reporting staff in order to ensure quality service delivery to clients.
Facilitate a strategic planning process to ensure efficient operational achievements and future expansion/growth.
Develop and implement Quality Assurance measures to eliminate liability and enhance service delivery.
Ensure staff utilization of electronic database and conduct oversight to ensure data integrity.
Analyze program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements.
Ensure that all consultants and subcontractors comply with all contractual and agency standards.
Identify and secure supplemental resources (i.e.-funding, in-kind donations, etc.).
Liaison with community leaders including police officials and building owners/partners to secure support.
Review and analyze program budget expenses and make recommendations for budget modifications.
Ensure budget expenditures are appropriate and within fiscal and contractual guidelines.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports and statistical information for both CAMBA management and funder use.
Confer with the appropriate Executive Vice-President and Senior Staff as needed regarding programmatic and personnel issues.
Represent CAMBA at funder/outside agency/community meetings as requested.

CAMBA is a City contractor that provides services where employees can be expected to physically interact with members of the public. All CAMBA staff are subject to the City’s October 21, 2021 COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate, whether they have direct involvement with members of the public, or they support others who have direct involvement.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Master’s Degree (M.A.) and 5-10 years of applicable experience and/or equivalent experience. (A license is required of these Master’s Degrees: Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, Art Therapy).

Other Requirements:
Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
