TITLE: Group Home Support Worker
LOCATION: Paterson, NJ
TYPE: Part-time / No Benefits
SCHEDULE: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday: 8am - 4:30pm (some flexibility with the hours)
REQUIRED: Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and show proof prior to start date.
The Group Home Support Worker provides supportive services to individuals geared toward enabling residents to live independently and work toward realizing their full potential. Promotes agency values through day to day interactions that support a Wellness and Recovery community culture within the home. The Enhanced Support Worker is a dynamic position incorporating elements of several roles, including case manager, social worker, skills teacher, and residential specialist. Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation model preferred. Responsibility: Works collaboratively with persons served, recently released from the psychiatric hospital, to develop and enhance living skills necessary for full community participation. Model and teach living skills and assist individuals in setting and achieving personal recovery and wellness goals. Must have good listening and motivational skills to effectively engage persons served and create a positive sense of community in shared housing.
Qualifications: Bachelors in Social Work or related field and OR HS Diploma and 4 years of working in mental health program. Excellent written, verbal and computer skills. Strong assessment and organizational skills. Ability to manage crisis. Valid drivers’ license and acceptable driving record.
