WELCOME TO SANTA MONICA COLLEGE! The Case Management Coordinator will serve as a critical member of the College's Care and Prevention Team (CPT) by performing professional mental health and risk assessments for referred students, overseeing and participating in case management activities, and providing clinical oversight and training to Master's in Social Work (MSW) interns assigned to the CPT.

Our ideal candidate will possess:
A thorough understanding of, and experience applying, Social Work principles and practices to perform mental health, risk, and threat assessments, evaluate the information obtained, and determine appropriate steps to take regarding cases encountered. Experience in a higher educational setting is preferred.
Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Experience performing and/or overseeing a high volume of case management activities, preferably in an educational setting.
Prior experience mentoring, training, and overseeing work performed by Social Work interns.
Familiarity with the common issues faced by Community College students, and knowledge of community organizations, programs, services, and resources in the areas of health, mental health, public safety, housing, education, and employment.
Proven experience applying conflict management techniques to mitigate interpersonally challenging or contentious situations with clients and build trust and rapport with a wide-range of clients and stakeholders.
Experience leveraging technology to organize, track, and manage cases.

Education Requirement:
Master’s in Social Work from a college accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required.   

Experience Requirement:
Two years of professional social work experience following completion of an MSW degree.
