The Transitional Housing Program serves adolescents from foster care or probation, starting at age 18-24.
Transitional housing provides youth with the opportunity to try, fail and learn new methods of living in an apartment within the community while having a supportive safety net. The staff provides supervision and comprehensive services on various life skills (budgeting, job skills, accessing education and health care, household management, etc.) at the client’s apartment or in the community. The program helps participants pursue their academic, employment and housing goals so they may achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency.
Salary Range: $18.73-$25.28 Actual offers will be determined by the candidate’s creditable years of experience in conjunction with internal equity considerations and based on the organization’s current compensation practices.
Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Provides assistance in helping students complete their vocational and educational goals and requirements, accessing community resources, facilitating educational/vocational activities, educating clients and families on graduation requirements, and supporting preparations for job and career development. Is responsible for assisting students with their study and rehabilitation skills in an effort to help them meet their education and career goals.
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) -in related field preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience.
HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Speak, read, and/or write another language preferred.
Other Specific Requirements
• Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance, if applicable.
• Valid California Driver's license with two years’ experience driving and clean driving record may be required.
