Position Summary:   The role of the Foster Parent Recruitment Coordinator is to provide a welcoming environment in which he/she will screen, and assess prospective applicants interested in becoming a foster parent with Children’s Aid. The Foster Parent Recruitment Coordinator provides a positive image about foster care at Children’s Aid. This role is an essential part of the Homefinding Department and to the entire Child Welfare Division.

•Screen all inquiries who demonstrate and interest in becoming a foster parent for all foster care programs
•Facilitate foster parent orientations for qualified applicants
•Responsible for following-up with applicants to complete OCFS application process to become a foster parent, which includes completing SEL and SCR clearances and scheduling fingerprint appointments for applicants and household members.
•Track and update internal inquiry database system weekly, monitor inquiry status, new applicant orientations attendance, and those discontinued in our system. Follow-up via telephone and/or by letter as required. Follow-up with applicants and/or discontinued applicants to ensure they are moving through the pipeline smoothly and efficiently
•Complete Connections data entry of all new applicants and maintain accurate household compositions   
•Process initial screening of transfer requests to and from another agency
•Process initial screening of requests to re-open a closed foster home
•Serve as a Liaison for Children’s Aid regarding foster parent recruitment at ACS Meetings and ACS Recruitment Events
•Follow-up with ACS Wish Line referrals by responding to referrals, calling applicants, sending letters and tracking those applicants referred by ACS, and submitting monthly reports
•Conduct orientations monthly as needed at our Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn sites. Provide individual orientations as needed to meet the recruitment needs of the programs
•Coordinate strategic recruitment events for Family, Medical, and Treatment Foster Care Programs as needed
•Facilitate Recruitment Focused meetings with our Home Away From Home Foster Parent Leaders and support their efforts in helping the Agency recruit quality foster parents
•Prepare monthly recruitment reports
•Track and Process finder’s fee for foster parents
•Create flyers and recruitment materials as needed and order recruitment materials as needed
•Assist in facilitating certification and on-going foster parent trainings as needed to meet the needs of the department (MAPP/GPS II and Deciding Together)
•Assist other programs when needed for training & presentations on our recruitment and certification process
•Work with the department on special events as needed
•Attend Staff, Department, Program and Division meetings and staff trainings as required
•Knowledge of OCFS/ACS Homefinding regulations/requirements, and be able to relay to applicants
•Additional duties as needed

•Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field required
•Minimum one year post Bachelor’s experience
•Knowledge of the Child Welfare and Foster Care Regulations
•Excellent oral and written skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Experience in conducting presentations and trainings
