Annual Salary: $69,270 - $84,553 DOE/DOQ

The City of Culver City, California, is seeking a Case Manager to perform essential mental health, substance abuse, mobile crisis dispatch, case management, and outreach services for the Human Services and Crisis Intervention Division within the Housing and Human Services Department (HHS). This essential position will report to the Mental Health Clinician as well as the Division Manager while supporting a wide range of clients experiencing homelessness, substance use, and mental health challenges. The Case Manager will also perform dispatch services for the City’s mobile crisis program, requiring candidates to undergo training while also working under a high level of pressure. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is well versed in de-escalation, conflict management, and experience with public safety or mental health dispatching. They are passionate about helping vulnerable populations, using their role to connect people to resources and provide assistance that can change lives for the better. THE POSITION/ IDEAL CANDIDATE
The Case Manager provides essential services for the HSCI Division, such as case management, dispatch services, street-level interventions, and direct client outreach. Having lived experience is essential for this role, as the Case Manager will be working directly with people experiencing various challenges related to substance use, mental health, and homelessness. Every day looks different in this role, with core responsibilities including conducting dispatch of crisis intervention calls, performing daily wellness checks, conducting home visits, maintaining case files, counseling clients, and providing aftercare by making referrals to community resources. The Case Manager will be experienced in working in high-pressure situations that require strong de-escalation and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, as they will be managing many clients, case files, and service plans simultaneously. They will work with a variety of stakeholders, such as the County’s Department of Mental Health, City and County law enforcement, and the community. The successful candidate will build positive relationships with others and be eager to make connections. They will either have dispatch experience or be prepared to undergo dispatch training along with on-the-job-learning through challenging situations.
