Ann Klein Forensic Center, located in West Trenton, NJ, invites you to join our team of professionals who are making a difference in the health and welfare of New Jersey citizens. Our inpatient facility provides quality comprehensive mental health services for individuals who require a secured psychiatric setting.

We are currently seeking a Teacher to ensure that patients eligible or in need of special accommodations for the intellectually disabled have access to these services while also making sure that the facility is in compliance with delivery of educational services to all patients.

Maintain adequate functional programming for those who require or request it. This includes assuring that the curriculum and program content are delivered within required guidelines of the State of NJ Department of Education. The Teacher is also responsible for Individual Education Plans (IEP's) and/or the education portion of Individual Habilitation. Plan for each pupil under their assignment; implement prescribed educational programming; coordinate recommendations of the Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist, and other professional members of the inter-disciplinary committee with the educational prescription for each pupil; collaborate with patient treatment teams from the education perspective.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Possession of a valid NJ Standard Teacher's Certificate or Permanent Endorsement, issued by the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education, authorizing instruction in subjects areas appropriate to the teaching assignment, as determined by the head of a particular school or district.

NOTE: Teacher 3 is utilized to teach differing student populations and different content areas; therefore, the specific teaching certificate may vary.

SPECIAL NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates that possess a teaching certificate in Special Education.

EXPERIENCE: Thirty-six (36) months of full-time, properly certified teaching experience in an approved school, earned after the receipt of the New Jersey Standard Teacher's Certificate.

NOTE: Ability to lift, move and position students as needed.
