JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health must apply a multidisciplinary approach to promote optimum outcomes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance abuse patients/clients of BAC. This position assists in matters of clinical compliance for mental health and substance abuse in accordance with Federal and State regulations; and within multiple service line contracts including OASAS, OMH, and SAMHSA. Assists with establishing clinical practice policy and protocols, individual/group supervision, case conferencing, quality assurance & improvement; and reviewing treatment plans while setting the pace for a high-performance productive department. The position requires representation and participation in BAC at internal and external meetings as assigned by the Director of BH. The Assistant Director is responsible to oversees the Clinical internship program and providing trauma-informed supervision to students and employees.
DUTIES:
Assists in providing clinical oversight in the delivery of behavioral and mental health services across multiple service areas, programs, and overall service delivery sites. This includes the development of protocols, policies, and procedures applicable to all behavioral/mental health service staff and programs.
Assist in ensuring compliance by providing mental health and substance abuse services either directly or by collaborative efforts with Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Quality Assurance staff.
Provides clinical guidance and support to substance abuse program (Managers), Interns (social work students), and Clinical Supervisors.
Be available “on-call” for crisis intervention consultation at all program levels.
Assists with the Administration of grant and contract rules and requirements applicable to the delivery of mental health services.


Skills
Must be proficient in Medical billing with an understanding of revenue cycle management as it relates to data capture for creating claims—i.e. familiarity with medical coding, etc.
Demonstrated progressive advancement in managerial/administrative positions, particularly in the healthcare field.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by the position.


Notes
Must have experience and knowledge of both OMH article 31 clinic and OASAS Article 32 clinic regulations. At least 5 years supervisory experience.
Management/leadership experience required
Mental health experience required
Fluent in Spanish preferred
