The Director, Mental Health Services, will be joining an innovative team that works collaboratively to solve challenges and build success. The team serves clients in a variety of settings: group homes, short-term crisis psychiatric residential care, and outpatient programs. They will play a key role in expanding services to encompass the mental health needs of adults. Plus, they will drive the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive care for individuals experiencing both intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Leadership & Staff Management
Provide leadership and supervision to Program Managers and Supervisors; coordinate schedules, including crisis response; and oversee clinical personnel and provide group supervision and individual licensure supervision.
Communicate closely with all program leaders and teams to ensure continuity of care; consult on clinical issues.
Ensure staff training is current and provide training to staff as needed. Ensure staff compliance with agency policies and procedures.
Program Management
Provide leadership and oversight for Subacute, ICTS, and Outpatient programs and for residential mental health services.
Identify, develop, and implement strategic and fiscally responsible opportunities for expansion and growth of programs and services, including comprehensive care of clients experiencing both intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
Collaborate with internal program leaders to create holistic system for shared clients.
Take lead role in managing subacute census and census goals.
Maintain positive working relationships with community agencies, families, physicians, and clinicians.
Ensure utilization of family driven care values and system of care principles through appropriate and effective clinical supervision and practice.
Ensure safe and effective therapeutic milieu.
Responsible for programs’ budgets.
Work with staff to complete and document mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and strength-based medically necessary service delivery, utilizing Collaborative Problem Solving, to address the needs of the client and family being served.
Develop policies and procedures.
Provide ongoing development and engagement with EPIC EHR, including but not limited to reviewing charts, supporting system management, and ensuring report utilization.
Quality Assurance
Ensure programs meet relevant accreditation body standards, Federal and State mandates, payer, and contractual expectations. Develop and maintain relationships with external regulatory, accrediting, and contractual stakeholders.
Track, report, and disseminate data to demonstrate program health and viability for contracts and other internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
Carry a case load or overflow cases as needed. Provide individual or group therapy as needed. Provide on-call crisis response for subacute and outpatient crisis back-up as needed.
Represent agency and mental health services in meetings, trainings, and committees for various internal and external stakeholders as assigned.
