New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an innovative and interdisciplinary child welfare and social services agency that provides essential support to families with at least one family member who has a disability and/or chronic medical condition. Children and their families enter into NAC’s services through the city’s foster care system, preventive services, or by way of community referral. All of our clients have access to a wide array of services including intensive, multi-faceted support for children’s educational needs.As such, NAC is looking for a creative solutions person to join a fun, hardworking team as an Education Program Liaison. NAC’s Education Program Liaison position is multi-faceted position featuring a range of direct support and administrative responsibilities, as well as specific program development demands. This position will involve considerable intra- and inter-office coordination and the development of external-facing data and documents. This position is partly grant funded with explicit deliverables and will involve close participation with NAC Development in pursuit of new funding opportunities.
Programmatic and Direct Support
•Support NAC caregivers with children ages 0-5 by facilitating early literacy workshops and information sessions.
Collaborate with NAC’s Education Coordinator for Programs and Events to create pre-literacy engagement activities and events for NAC’s children ages 0-5.
•Liaise with NAC’s Early Literacy Education Specialist and Elementary Grades Education Supervisor to design programming that reflects the needs of NAC’s families with children ages 0-5.
•Engage and collaborate with external partners to enhance NAC’s own early literacy programming and events.
Quantitative, Data, and Administrative
•Produce spreadsheets for internal and external purposes, including on NAC’s early literacy efforts, school-aged advocacy and outcomes, and post-secondary work
•Run data system reports for internal and external purposes
•Oversight and maintenance of client contact information in various databases
•Dissemination of tutor reports
•Support the finalization of department referrals
•Support with processing foster care intake documentation
•Maintenance and development of Google Drive files for specific department projects
•Support department billing/spending maintenance and documentation
•Monitor and facilitate on-time deliverables for private grants and government contracts
•Document and disseminate NAC education technology in coordination with internal departments
Training and Onboarding
•Assist in new staff development related to projects and grant funded requirements
Required Education and Required Skills:
•Bachelor’s Degree
•Strong interest in Early Childhood Education and Literacy
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
