BILINGUAL CLINICIAN/COUNSELOR II

Diversion – Outreach Support Education – Santa Ana, F/T, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm. Hybrid Schedule *After hours availability based on client needs.

Responsibilities Include:
Intervene with youth who are exhibiting delinquency, emotional, behavioral and/or school issues to keep at-risk youth from re-entering the Juvenile Justice System.
Providing therapeutic and restorative justice practices such as individual, family and/or group counseling and education.
Engage the family in Parent Project® and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which targets youth with very serious problems such as conduct disorder, violent acting-out and substance use. These components are designed to empower the caregiver to strengthen parent-child relationships, improve communication, build family resiliency, increase social competency, and develop a culture of shared responsibility to reintegrate the youth back into the family resulting in reduced recidivism and increased community safety.
Hybrid schedule and supervision of clinical hours provided.

Requirements Include:
Requires a Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field and current registration as an intern with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Counseling experience with adolescents and families. Requires knowledge of theory and techniques of individual, family, and group dynamics, as well as substance abuse issues.
Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and be sensitive to the needs of special populations.
Ability to establish rapport, make accurate assessment of the family’s needs, and assist the family in accessing and utilizing resources.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
After hours availability based on client needs.
Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a reliable automobile.
Bilingual English/Spanish Required.
