Northern Manhattan Perinatal Partnership a maternal and child health agency located in Central Harlem seeks an Education Director for its Head Start/ Child Care Center. The Education Director is responsible for supervising the education content area of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. The Director should have experience in ECE and the ability to oversee and manage a diverse high quality education program.

* Oversee the operation of the ECE program
* Coordinate and supervise the education staff in developing and managing all aspects of programming including education, health, nutrition, social services, parent involvement, mental health, and disabilities
* Ensure that all program services are of the highest quality
* Monitor the financial budget and ensure that classrooms have required furniture/ materials
* Build relationships with the Department of Education (DOE), Department of Health (DOH), other community and city wide organizations
* Ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are met and all licenses are current
* Ensure that education employees are trained regularly to meet compliance standards
* Provide regular observation, feedback, and training for the education staff
* Ensure the health and safety of the children
* Assist in the collection of data for submission for the annual self assessment
* Keep abreast of the current trends and research in ECE
* Participate in staff development opportunities

* Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Child Services, Child Development, or related field
* New State Teacher Certification in B-2, or a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education on a study plan for NYS Teachers License
* Updated CLASS and ECERS certification
* Knowledge of Head Start, DOE, and Child Care regulations and requirements, including recordkeeping and reporting requirements
* An understanding of the community's child care needs
* Excellent verbal/ written, communication, and computer literacy skills
* Ability to listen and address parent/staff concerns
* Excellent work ethic
