The Human Services Department (HSD) seeks experienced Social Workers looking for a rewarding career opportunity.

Starting salary up to $38.13/hour *($79,581.89/year), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!

This recruitment is currently being conducted to fill one English and one bilingual (English/Spanish) position in the Economic Assistance Division, two English Time-Limited positions in the Family, Youth, and Children division, and one English position in the Adult & Aging Division of the Human Services Department.

Economic Assistance Social Service Worker III positions are responsible for interviewing clients in person and over the phone to assess their situation and provide information and referrals for clients with a variety of needs.

Family, Youth, and Children Social Service Worker III positions are responsible for working with abused or neglected children and their families to ensure they have a safe and a secure place to live. Duties include completing the County’s Emergency Relative Placement process, including talking to family members about their family history and carrying out home inspections and safety checks.

The Adult & Aging Social Service Worker III position is responsible for providing a variety of complex social services to older adults and people with disabilities of all ages. SSWIIIs in this assignment communicate program requirements and eligibility to clients and their care providers.

Experience working with complex caseloads and the ability to manage competing priorities
Familiarity with safety-net and social service programs
Experience working with clients facing the challenges of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, poverty, abuse, neglect, and/or other significant barriers
