Description
STRIVE is a new initiative in partnership with Metropolitan Center for Mental Health and the NYC Department for the Aging. STRIVE’s mission is to foster Support, Treatment, Recovery, Independence, Voice and Empowerment for older New Yorkers who need it the most. STRIVE also seeks to provide education for providers and organizations working with older people to promote acceptance and community inclusion. STRIVE is a model of community engagement that aims to close gaps in services and supports for older adults with a lived experience of mental illness and/or substance use.

The STRIVE Social Worker will use a comprehensive, whole-person approach to support wellness and healthy aging in place for older New Yorkers. This position will involve extensive collaboration with program partners, community based assessment and linkage to services and supports, outreach, education, and data collection/ tracking.

Skills
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting older adults and an ability to be a strategic thought partner to inform program design. Previous experience supporting individuals with mental illness, substance use and/or case management needs is required. Computer proficiency and previous experience with electronic documentation is required. LMSW (or other licensure) is strongly preferred. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.


Notes
Mid $50k to low $60k depending on experience. SPOP offers a comprehensive benefits package along with expert supervision and a supportive clinical environment.
