Through the compassion and dedication of our diverse interdisciplinary teams, Sertoma has grown to be one of the leading Social Service Non-Profits in the south Chicagoland suburbs. Today we serve more than 2,000 individuals annually within our many inclusive, person-first support programs.
Your Role:
As the Assistant Executive Director, you will have a profound impact on the individuals we serve by implementing company policy and mission-driven objectives. Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, this position oversees the management and success of all program services for the agency. These include, but are not limited to, services within the Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities departments and the Community Mental Health and Counseling division. The Assistant Executive Director is an integral part of the Leadership Team, ensuring the delivery of quality services to persons served and the fulfillment of Sertoma Centre’s vision of inclusivity.
Position Responsibilities:
·Represent the values and mission of Sertoma Centre, Inc.; always advocating for the equality, dignity, and respect of individuals with disabilities.
·Assist the Executive Director with the overall administration of the agency as requested and act as Executive Director over daily operations in his/her absence.
·Maintain an awareness of all program funding sources and requirements related to all program services, ensuring that agency systems accommodate funding requirements and maximize available revenue sources.
·Meet requirements of applicable licensing, funding, accreditation, and other state/federal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all standards.
·Oversee process for quality assurance, performance measurement and management and agency strategic planning in relation to program services.
·Provide oversight to the agency investigations process for allegations of abuse or neglect of persons served, and the systems for ensuring the protection of individual rights.
·Assist with fiscal projections for the agency’s annual budget and manage program services operations within the established budget by closely monitoring budget projections and making program adjustments as needed and indicated.
·Provide strong leadership by carrying out high-level administrative support in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
·Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and systems for the agency as required.


Skills
·Bachelor’s degree in human services field, Master’s preferred.
·Eight years’ experience in the field of developmental disabilities and/or community mental health.
·Five years’ experience in staff supervision; administration of programs.
·Knowledge of state-operated community services, federal/state regulations, and programs for individuals with disabilities.
·Admin. experience in DHS-funded programs in the areas of developmental disabilities, mental health, and rehabilitation services.
