Description
WIHD seeks to hire a full-time Social Worker/Clinician to provide in-home, trauma-informed clinical services, parent training and support for families being reunified following foster care placement. Clinician will work closely with children and families leading up to and following reunification, with a focus on the safety and well-being for children. Clinician may also conduct child and family treatment on site. Child Welfare Services at WIHD provides a comprehensive array of services, supports and advocacy for children and families involved with the child welfare system in Westchester County. These services include clinical assessments of children and their birth parents, pediatric medical care, mental health treatment for children, parent education and training, educational coordination and advocacy, and community-based aftercare for families reunifying from foster care. Key Responsibilities As a Social Worker/Clinician with the Every Family Counts Aftercare Program, you will: * Provide home-based and/or community-based child and family treatment, case management and advocacy in order to expedite permanency, prevent foster care placement and/or re-entry to care * Collaborate with other members of the Aftercare team, caseworkers and other service providers through phone calls and in-person and virtual meetings to promote successful reunification. Attend case conferences, family court proceedings and attend relevant training and staff meetings. * Document case activities using electronic record keeping system and NYS database, Connections. * Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout Westchester County; some evening hours may be required.

Skills
* Master’s in Social Work or related field; preference given to licensed applicants * 3 years’ experience working with children and families impacted by trauma; * Knowledge of child welfare system, child abuse, child development and use of evidence-based interventions, experience providing services in a home setting strongly preferred * The possibility of some remote work opportunities can be discussed with interested applicants
