We are searching for an associate to join our research and evaluation team to support a rapidly expanding organization. The Data Associate will gather and analyze operations data for the organization, support staff in the accurate and complete collection of data in compliance with internal and funder requirements while aggregating information to support management and leadership in making informed and objective business and policy decisions. This position reports to the Data and Evaluation Manager and has the following responsibilities:
Audit data for compliance with internal and external data standards.
Meet with staff one-on-one and in small groups to review data quality.
Regularly run and review reports in Salesforce for quality assurance.
Identify data quality issues for the Data and Evaluation Manager and program leadership.
Support internal research requests that include but are not limited to program performance; tenant/client demographics; legislation tracking; and literature review.
Draft policy and procedures in the user manual for all new features; work with Data and Evaluation Manager and program staff to manage the rollout.
Provide training and/or guidance to staff on data collection tools and techniques.
Provide periodic reports to senior staff.
Maintain legislation and elected official contact information trackers to support New Destiny’s advocacy work.
Participate in trainings, webinars, and other learning opportunities to keep abreast of best practices as well as funder requirements.
Other duties as assigned which may include collaborative assignments with other departments
Required Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g. biology, computer science, engineering, statistics) or 1-2 years of relevant professional experience (e.g. reporting, data quality assurance, training staff in data systems, writing documentation for users)
Proficiency in MS Excel includes the ability to write and audit complex formulas, create and use pivot tables, and use data validation
Familiarity with relational databases
Ability to debug and find root causes of data issues
Experience in giving presentations and facilitating workshops
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to present technical information to non-technical staff
Exceptional interpersonal skills including capacity for patience and flexibility when working with staff from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Salesforce experience, Proficiency in SQL, Proficiency in Python, Experience providing support to non-technical end-users, Familiarity with housing/homelessness, Familiarity with policy-making process.
