Title:                 Senior Director, Workforce Development                
Program:         Workforce Development        
Schedule:         Hybrid

Program Description:
Project Renewal’s workforce development (WFD) division helps individuals with histories of homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and justice involvement to prepare for, find, and retain employment. Programming includes pre-employment services, soft skills training, sector-based trainings, digital literacy, financial literacy, case management, job retention, career advancement and alumni services. Project Renewal enrolls 500-600 clients in WFD programs each year and consistently achieves job placement and retention outcomes that exceed the national average for programs serving similar populations. The WFD division has an operating budget of approximately $3M comprised of multiple government contracts and private foundations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the Sr. Director of WFD include but are not limited to the following activities:
•        Oversee all WFD programs/services and ensure seamless collaboration with other departments.
•        Manage data through Salesforce and track performance intensively to ensure all program/contract goals are met, and address areas of concern proactively.
•        Expand job placement, retention, and career advancement services to ensure upward mobility and financial stability of graduates.
•        Manage program budgets, coordinate staff allocations, track expenses, and maximize billing for performance-based contracts.
•        Design and implement new programs and support services.
•        Develop presentations, coordinate site visits, draft reports, and prepare for audits for foundation and government funders.
•        Manage multiple government contracts and ensure full compliance.
•        Write proposals and develop budgets in response to RFPs.
•        Create new training programs and enhance already existing initiatives.
•        Partner with other program leaders throughout the agency to integrate employment services and drive innovative, high-impact programs for Project Renewal clients.
•        Build and maintain relationships with employers and other key partners.
•        Manage and mentor a team of 25+ staff members.
•        May be assigned other duties as needed.

Skills
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will function as both thought leader and program manager. Specific candidate requirements include:
•        Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years managerial experience. Master’s degree in a
•        related field is preferred.
•        Proven track record in managing highly effective workforce development programs that have multiple funding sources and milestone outcomes.
•        Track record of developing and implementing effective workforce development programs.

•        Understanding of labor market trends and workforce system.
•        Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to support staff to meet program goals.
•        Ability to communicate effectively; excellent presentation and writing skills are critical.
•        Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
•        Experience with program budgets and writing proposals.
•        Understanding and incorporating diverse points of view, styles, and approaches.
