Description The Housing Navigator Specialist is responsible for increasing access for homeless individuals and families referred with rental assistance vouchers to both private and public rental markets for those moving from homelessness to affordable rental housing. This includes building relationships with referral agencies and with landlords to assist people with housing search and leasing. This includes creating incentives for landlords to relax screening criteria for people experiencing homelessness who have barriers to accessing permanent housing. Incentives may include a rapid response to concerns, tenant case-management, rental deposits, and short-term rental assistance.
Skills High School Diploma or GED and relevant work experience. Valid drivers’ license and acceptable driving record is required. Experience with Real Estate and knowledge of state and local housing regulations is strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal skills, strong assessment skills and organizational skills are required. Must have strong computer skills.
