Anthesis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that individuals with disabilities are given opportunities for success in competitive integrated employment settings. We are looking for individuals that are passionate about working with our population of adults with disabilities and helping them grow in developmental, technical and recreational skills.
We have a variety of Direct Support Professional positions open, some of which are listed below:
1. Community Coach:
•Supporting adults with disabilities in natural settings through activities designed to promote vocational, social, physical and intellectual growth
•Supervising, training and following through with goals set forth in each program participants’ person centered service plan
•Planning group activities, scheduling and supervising outings, assisting with the use of public transportation and setting up volunteer job opportunities and recreational activities in line with person centered service plans
•Leading monthly meetings with clients in IECBS program to discuss safety, codes of ethics, rules of conduct, etc.
•Community Coaches are also responsible for transporting program participants using their personal vehicle, however mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate.
2. Instructor/Senior Companion
The instructor/Senior Companion would work as a part of our Licensed Day Program, and they would be assigned an enclave of 3 Participants to guide in both mental and social aspects
•Charting daily on participant activities and potentially handling the distribution of money and medication
•Preparing and reviewing daily/weekly activity plans with the participants, allowing them to choose activities that are not only educational and community oriented, but fun and social as well
•Completing daily destination sheets before leaving for a community outing and checks out daily materials
•Coordinating activities and transportation needs for participants under the guidance of the Program Specialist
• Ability to drive Company vehicles is a must
3. Job Coach-Chino Hills
The Job Coach will be assigned an enclave that will provide custodial and porter services for the new Community Center and the McCoy Equestrian & Recreation Center located next door. The job coach will supervise the consumers to ensure that the work performed is in line with the specifications of the Maintenance & Operations Manager. The job coach will also be responsible for communicating with the Maintenance & Operations Manager regarding potential questions, concerns, and methods to resolve such matters.
Working alongside the enclave, the job coach will be responsible for:
• Changing trash bags daily, picking up litter, ensuring restrooms are kept clean, and stocking supplies at the community center restrooms
• Providing various services, such as cleaning of the chairs and setting up for large events, such as weddings.
