Director, Day Health Services
F/T 8:30 A to 5 P Monday-Friday

The Arc of Union County, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc serves more than 1,000 adults and children each month from the 21 towns in Union County, as well as the greater Northern and Central NJ counties

Summary: The Director, Day Health Services has full responsibility and accountability for all assigned clinical aspects delivered in the Day Health Program. Responsible for providing nursing services to service recipients, development, and implementation of preventive health services for individuals with developmental disabilities within The Arc of Union County Day Health Services. Maintain ongoing monitoring and documentation of service recipients' health needs, identify emerging health needs, and provide appropriate guidance and interventions. Perform health assessments for individuals served utilizing the nursing process and within the scope of practice.
Responsible for supervision of staff assigned to their program(s), overseeing the performance of Supervisors, Support Professionals, staff development, evaluation of staff and execution of personnel actions when necessary.

Skills & Qualifications: Ability to use Windows software, Ability to use a data entry software such as Therap, Excellent interpersonal and conceptual skills required. Ability to practice evidence based clinical practices within the scope of practice and/or as directed. Clear understanding of the Nursing Process and its application in an interdisciplinary community environment to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and associated comorbidities. Ability to solve management issues and direct numerous and varied department operations simultaneously. Strong management, leadership, planning and communication skills. Flexibility and sense of humor. Demonstrate ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced, and demanding environment.

Master's degree in nursing required or Masters prepared nurse and a current R.N. License. Ten or more years’ experience working in a long-term care setting with significant clinical experience in a related field serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Minimum 5 years of successful middle level to upper management supervisory, programmatic, operations and administrative experience required. Thorough knowledge of all DDD, CMS, CARF, Adult Day Habilitation Certification standards. Full suite of health benefits and 401k. Salary is negotiable.
