Description
Brooklyn based nonprofit seeks Peer Specialist with a HS Diploma, GED Must be certified by OMH or OASAS as a Peer Specialist with 2 years of experience. Must be able to The Peer Specialist is responsible for providing person centered planning and delivery of services to individuals. The peer (1 FTE) shares lived experiences to adult clients by providing supportive and skills-building service. Must be able to provide Empowerment Services and Peer Supports are provided with a rehabilitation and recovery focus. They are designed to promote skills for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms. Services are delivered in mainly in community and home settings. Case conferencing with mental health/Substance Use providers to determine goals/objectives, activities and who will perform needed tasks related to mental health issues for client and family. Provide individual/group services. Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, etc.) and have good writing and communications skills.

Skills
Knowledge in trauma-informed, recovery in both SUD and mental health. Knowledge of best practices- Motivational Interviewing, WRAP etc.
