Description
The NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices. NYU McSilver has a robust training program on best practices in service delivery programs, including the Community Technical Assistance Center of New York (CTAC) which provides trainings and implementation support to behavioral health agencies across New York State.

We are looking to hire a talented and motivated individual to serve as the Youth ACT Project Director. Reporting to the CTAC Sr. Director, the Youth ACT Project Director will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day to day management of the YouthACT Technical Assistance Center (YTAC), a project of CTAC. The YTAC project will provide training and technical assistance to Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams across New York State. The Youth ACT teams will serve children/youth and families with significant mental health challenges in a community-based service model. The ideal candidate will ensure all contract deliverables are met and develop strong partnerships with state partners, external experts and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
-- Provide overall leadership and planning for YTAC, in collaboration with CTAC Sr. Director and Chief Program Officer
-- Oversee day to day management of YTAC and ensure contract deliverables are met
-- Facilitate meetings with YTAC partners and other stakeholders
-- Regularly meet and communicate with NYSOMH regarding contract deliverables
-- Meet regularly with McSilver Chief Program Officer and CTAC Sr. Director
-- Oversee the work of subcontractors and consultants to plan, develop, and implement deliverables
-- Collaborate with internal staff to ensure deliverables are met as appropriate
-- Supervise McSilver project staff as appropriate
-- Collaborate with NYSOMH to support evaluation efforts if needed
-- Support dissemination of YTAC work through publication, conferences, and other media as appropriate
-- Develop and facilitate trainings related to Youth ACT model and best practices in working with youth and families
-- Facilitate a learning collaborative of various Youth ACT teams and other stakeholders
-- Facilitate implementation support calls for new Youth ACT teams
-- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

-- Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (Licensed Social Worker, Psychologist, Mental Health Counselor, or equivalent) with demonstrated minimum of 5 years experience managing a team, directing a program or organization, and working with funders
-- Significant experience working with children, adolescents, and their families with significant mental health challenges
-- Prior experience with the ACT model or experience working in team and community based service models
-- Experience conducting trainings and consultation
-- Excellent writing skills
-- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects, delegate tasks and check on the completion of assigned tasks.
-- Superior organizational and communication skills, including the ability to manage short and long term projects.
-- Ability to adapt under different situations and exercise stress tolerance skills
-- Self-starter: possess the ability to create new and more efficient ways of tracking and disseminating information.
