Company: Sycamores, one of the largest, nonprofit, private children’s mental health and welfare agencies in Los Angeles County, provides a comprehensive continuum of services to over 8,000 children and families annually through a network of facilities stretching across the greater Los Angeles area including the San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, and the Antelope Valley.
Job Description: Primary duties include conducting psychiatric examinations and evaluations, making psychiatric diagnosis, applying psychiatric treatment, and providing medical supervision and medication management at a wide variety of mental health clinics. Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team for treatment planning and ongoing care. Perform utilization review, medication monitoring and quality assurance activities. Provide education regarding medication-related issues to family members and caretakers, as indicated. May communicate with juvenile courts regarding medication and treatment planning.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited medical school and satisfactory completion of a psychiatric residency program approved by the AMA or the American Osteopathic Association. Must be a Board-Certified Psychiatrist or board eligible. Must possess current California MD License, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner CA license, DEA registration, and NPI number confirmation. Must maintain a minimum of $1,000,000.00/$3,000,000 of professional liability insurance. Knowledge of newer medications preferred. Ability and comfortable with use of technology is required. Bilingual/Bi-cultural Spanish speaking is desired but not required. Comfortable providing psychiatric services to youth ages 11-18 in a short-term residential treatment and or ages 5-25 in a community-based clinic setting.
Days: Variable, Hathaway-Sycamores has psychiatrists working from one day a week to five days a week.
Practice Setting: Residential Programs-Altadena, California and community-based clinics across Los Angeles County. In person as well as Tele-Health providers will be considered.
