Description
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Offers a full range of counseling a psychological services, including but not limited to: triages, individual treatment, structured groups, and case management.
Collaborates with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary University based mental health service.
May develop and conduct University community based programs to educate and support staff, faculty and students and to decrease the stigma associated with help seeking behavior.
Provide training and consultation to staff and faculty on psychological issues and challenges experienced by students.
Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary group of staff and faculty to help students meet their academic goals.
May provide training and clinical supervision for advanced graduate students in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work, including case focused supervision, presentation of training materials and general mentorship concerning the challenges and opportunities associated with university based mental healthcare.


Skills
Interest/experience with evidence based, culture-centered, structured treatments for common concerns for University students including: Depression, anxiety, affective dysregulation, substance abuse and eating difficulties, etc.
Familiarity with developmental issues of college students.
Demonstrated sensitivity and skill in working with diverse students, staff and faculty.


Notes
Demonstrated experience in areas relevant to work with University students seeking mental health care.
Specialized expertise and/or experience in working with Students of Color, the LGBTQ community, first generation or other marginalized populations.
A valid driver’s license is helpful as it may be necessary to travel among Rutgers New Brunswick campuses on occasion.
