CAMBA’s Evergreen Family Residence is funded by New York City Department of Homeless Services and offers families a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe and drug-free facility. It provides comprehensive case management services to 51 families in a transitional residence program for homeless families. The five story facility has rooms for various sizes, common areas and provides on-site security and socials services to stabilize their conditions in order to successfully transition into permanent housing.
Position: Recreation Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Social Services
Location: 1144 Evergreen Avenue, Bronx, NY, 10472
What The Recreation Coordinator Does: The Recreation Coordinator will provide supervision to recreation program staff and services in accordance with program goals, targets, and performance outcomes. While working with clients and families to monitor progress and regularly input information into CARES database. Plan and organize activities within the facility and the community to maximize program contract’s goals and performance targets. In collaboration with the social service staff, work with clients to break through barriers to client goals and to assist clients in advocating for themselves and in moving toward self-sufficiency.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and/ or equivalent experience.
Ability to obtain State Central Registry (SCR clearance, The Register of Substantiated Category One Cases of Abuse or Neglect aka Staff Exclusion List (SEL) clearance and Criminal History Information check via fingerprinting with New York Division of Criminal Justice Services prior to start of employment.
Maintain clearances throughout the duration of employment.
May be required to become First Aid/CPR certified.
May be required to become certified in overdose prevention.
Must obtain Annual PPD Test.
