The "I Have a Dream"® Foundation - New York seeks a licensed certified social worker (LCSW) to supervise graduate-level social work interns and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Dreamer Mental Health Program. The Social Work Supervisor will report to the IHDF Director of National Programs and maintain collaborative contact with Program Directors.
The Social Work Supervisor will:

Act as Field Supervisor and Education Coordinator for graduate Masters level social work interns, liaising with schools of social work, fulfilling field placement responsibilities, completing all required documentation, and maintaining IHDF-NY in good standing as a Field Agency. Time will be split between the two IHDF-NY sites in East Harlem and Chelsea.

Conduct needs assessments of the Dreamers at each program site to identify behavior and emotional status and service needs. Design and oversee all mental health service modalities, including individual, group, collateral family counseling, crisis interventions, advocacy, case management, community organizing, psychoeducation, referrals and others as needed.

Train program site staff to identify and support students in need, represent the needs of children at the school and home level, speak to parents about their children’s concerns and connect them to the proper resources.

Onboard/integrate interns into IHDF-NY program: provide training, weekly supervision (1½ hr/intern), consultations and other learning opportunities, create Learning Agreements, review interns’ progress notes and client documentation, evaluate, and recommend intern grades.

Facilitate weekly consultation with the Program Directors, and weekly case conference meetings with Interns and key staff.

Update Social Work/Mental Health program policies, procedures, and client documentation.

Must possess knowledge of child and adolescent development, Special Education/IEP/education advocacy, trauma-informed counseling, and collaborative practices.
Must be comfortable and competent in promoting educational, social and racial equity through supervision and provision of services.
Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience.
SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) Certification or willingness to enroll in feeder school’s certification program upon hire.
Proficiency in Spanish a plus.
