Summer Camp 2021: Paid Internships & 6 Free College Credits!

If you are looking for a place where you can truly make a difference and
live your passion every day, we invite you to take a close look at AHRC New York City.

We are always looking for bright and talented people to join our diverse team. AHRC NYC has two overnight summer camps in upstate New York for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and we are hiring for multiple positions at the camps this summer!

We are looking for caring, hardworking, creative people who are open to new experiences. We are planning to run our camps at 50% capacity and with a number of safeguards in place to keep campers and staff safe.   Current opportunities include camp counselors, lifeguards, kitchen staff, office staff and housekeeping staff. All positions are seasonal from June – August and include training, salary and room and board at the camp.

Often staff members are working towards careers in health care fields such as psychology, nursing, special education, social work, and medicine, but we also have many camp staff that have little experience with this population and are investigating possible career paths. Through an engaging nine-day training program, with great supervision throughout the summer, each staff person is given the tools and the support to work effectively in the camp environment.

Improving the quality of life to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is our priority; the camps are able to provide experiences to people of all ages with developmental disabilities that would otherwise be unavailable. Working directly with individuals, sometimes on a 1:1 basis, staff will help campers participate in art projects, therapeutic riding, swimming, boating, music, dance, nature and sports to achieve our goal in providing a rich summer experience for everyone.

Working at camp can be very demanding job but a very fulfilling one. Spend the summer in the relaxing atmosphere of the Catskills Mountains and come away with new skills and a sense of giving back.

And most importantly, to apply for a camp position, please email a cover letter
including a statement as to why you are interested in this opportunity,
your current resume and 2 professional references to:
Risa Kantor, Assistant Director, HR Projects at:

We hope to see you at camp this summer!
