Title:                  Compliance Coordinator

Program:          Administration

Overall Responsibilities:

The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer and in collaboration with management addresses, investigates and/or resolves incidents and compliance concerns across the agency. This role assists in the oversight of the incident management processes for Project Renewal. The staff in this position assumes a key role to ensure agencywide adherence to policies and procedures, laws, regulations, and standards. This person serves as a liaison between the department, programs, and leadership

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Incident Management Responsibilities:

·       Review all incidents reported in the agency’s internal database for completeness, clarity, and adherence to established incident documentation standards

·       Coordinate with program staff at licensed facilities to ensure that all reportable incidents are reported to the Justice Center, OASAS, and/or OMH within required timeframes

·       Compile reports of all incidents and identify which require investigation

·       Manage and respond to OMH complaints

·       Submit investigative reports and supporting documentation to external reporting systems and agencies, such as Justice Center’s Administrative Action Reporting Mechanism (AARM), Web Submission Investigation Report (WSIR), OMH NIMRS and to OASAS and other agencies and systems as identified

·       Facilitate and prepare materials for the PRI’s internal agency incident review meetings (at least 16 meetings a year), covering OMH/OASAS-licensed program incidents, shelter program incidents, and all other agency program incidents

·       Record and disseminate Incident Review Committee (IRC) minutes and recommendations to program staff

·       Prepare follow-up materials related to outstanding corrective actions and IRC recommendations

·       Revise incident management policies and procedures as appropriate

·       Conduct periodic incident management trainings

·       Other incident management duties as assigned. Compliance Responsibilities

·       Assist across the agency with individual departmental confidential investigations

·       Assist in the developmental of the Compliance Department’s annual work calendar and facilitate the completion of work plan related activities

·       Review and approve Plans of Corrective Actions (POCAs) related to internal/external audits

·       Attend Board Committee meetings and record meeting minutes. Ensure timely dissemination following each meeting

·       Develop, revise and conduct Compliance related trainings

·       Other duties as assigned

Qualification:
·       Master’s degree in social work or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Healthcare, Human Services, Compliance, or related field
·       Organized, independent thinker with the ability to assess and resolve problems in collaboration with multiple stakeholders
·       Must be able to work independently
·

Skills
Must have worked closely with NYS Justice Center (OMH and/or OASAS) incident management processes
·       Experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance use issues, in homeless shelters or supportive housing
·       Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to engage with staff at all levels throughout the Agency
·       Excellent writing and presentation; listening and problem-solving skills
