The Peer Specialist is responsible for providing person centered planning, outreach for engagement and re-engagement in treatment, support and connect persons to community based recovery support with treatment/recovery and discharge planning.

Provide engagement and re-engagement with candidates for the program
Peer Support uses trauma-informed, non-clinical assistance to achieve long term recovery
Model coping skills for participants
Develop recovery plans.
Engaging participants in continuing care services post discharge
Maintains accurate and up-date records in accordance with the programs policies and procedures.
Must be able to travel in the community.
Assist in travel Training-to use public transportation.
Assisting with applying for benefits
Educating program participation about modes of recovery.
Maintains accurate and up-dated records in accordance with the programs policies and procedures
Other related duties

Reviews all alerts in ECR daily.
Attend daily huddles.
Works toward key performance indicators
Document all services provided in a timely manner

Attends Supervision

Ensures all reports are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.

Knowledge in trauma-informed, recovery in both SUD and mental health.
Knowledge of best practices- Motivational Interviewing, WRAP etc.
HS Diploma, GED
Life experience is credited.
At least one year experience in related field.
Must be certified by OASAS as a Certified Recovery Advocate Peer Specialist (CRPA) or CRPA -provisional (CRPA-P)
