The Bridge, an innovative and well respected mental health agency serving adults with serious mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and co-morbid medical conditions is seeking a Database Management Specialist to join its Residential Services department.
Scope of Position:
Responsible for managing the agency’s primary Electronic Health Record, AWARDS, as well as various government run client databases, including, but not limited to, CAIRS, CAPS and Maven, to ensure timely and accurate reporting as required by various funders
Regularly monitor data quality and submission to meet funder requirements, such as those required by the local CoC and HMIS regulations; database management duties also include managing data cleanup projects such as maintaining Service Provider records, merging duplicate accounts, and monitoring various data points to ensure accurate record keeping and outcomes
Responsible to act as the primary technical support for AWARDS as the local Help Desk, including creating and maintaining user accounts and supporting staff utilization of these databases through training and technical assistance, both ongoing and as specific needs arise; participate in regular communication with Foothold Technology to address specific software issues or user requests not able to be addressed locally, as well as to coordinate customization and development of the software in an effort to tailor its use for specific department or agency-wide needs; must be able to develop and deliver clear and effective training and communications around the use of software to both new users and as changes and improvements to those systems are developed and deployed
Perform related administrative and record keeping duties, including data collection, cleanup and analysis, reports, etc.; attend staff meetings, supervision, conferences and trainings, as required; maintain and ensure HIPAA confidentiality of records and all client information; liaise with other departments within the Bridge, and with outside providers; complete administrative special projects as assigned by Program Administration; any other duties assigned and
familiarity with The Bridge’s various programs, including how those programs utilize the EHR or other databases to meet client and funder needs. Coordinate efforts between those departments and agency administration to develop new tools, workflows, and reports to help bridge the gap(s) between software, and service delivery so that there may be data driven quality improvement efforts.

Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred with experience working with vulnerable populations a plus; excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail; superior computer literacy skills, with a demonstrated familiarity with AWARDS and Excel a must; candidate must me a team player who is flexible, creative, stress resistant and open to feedback;

excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of New York City supportive housing systems, HUD HMIS, OMH, DOHMH, and OASAS programs a plus.
