Position Summary:
Provide psychotherapist mental-health services to a geriatric population to assist them with leading enriched lives while coping with issues of mental health, medical health and the aging process.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide long and short-term psychotherapy to clients and collateral family members where appropriate (including crisis intervention).
-Conduct group psychotherapy sessions.
-Provide psychotherapy related emergency cellphone coverage for clients.
-Refer clients to appropriate community resources for case management issues/advocacy, e.g. legal, housing, life planning directives.
-Participate in weekly supervision, biweekly clinical group supervision and interdisciplinary staff meetings.
-Timely completion of documentation in AWARDS electronic health record and required documentation to comply with NYS-OMH regulations and New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requirements: intake screening tools, psychosocial history, treatment plan and treatment plan reviews, incident reports, progress notes and encounter forms.
-Report to the administration about recipient’s unmet needs.
-Serve on the agency’s committees as assigned.
Immediate notification of Director and appropriate clinical staff of reportable incidents and at risk behaviors. Participate in ongoing professional training for continuing education units and other professional development as mandated by the agency or recommended by supervisor.
-Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.

-LCSW with minimum three years clinical social work experience.
-Experience in mental health and/or adult mental health.
-Must comply with the agency’s standard of ethics, conduct and organization policies.
-Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to accomplish program goals and adapt to the changing program environment.
-Must be able to establish priorities and a course of action for handling multiple tasks.
