Located downtown San Jose, Bill Wilson Center’s Drop In Center (DIC) is a one-stop location where staff provide outreach, basic needs, case management, behavioral health services, housing resources, crisis management, employment and education assistance to transition age youth (18-24). We are searching for a Program Director to provide supportive leadership and ensure a welcoming and supportive space for homeless street youth.Strategy Formation & Oversight
•Direct and oversight of all grants, capacity building, goals and outcomes in alignment with agency Strategic Plan
•Develop, coordinate, plan and implement Drop In Center services for homeless street youth including outreach, basic needs, case management, behavioral health services, crisis management, employment and education assistance, advocacy and housing assistance
•Work with team to generate ideas for programming that help young adults succeed in ending homelessness and in problem solving barriers when outcomes are not met
•Assist in incorporating youth voice and choice in all levels of operation
•Balance humility and respect for the realities of on-the-ground and anti-poverty work with rigor and accountability to achieve meaningful results
•Direct and oversight of Young Adult Shelter, Interim housing and Respite that provide emergency housing opportunities for transitional age youth experiencing homelessness
Management & Leadership
•Provide organizational leadership during an exciting time of change and growth
•Manage, develop and coach up to 11 staff positions who are providing case management, employment, education and housing specializations
•Responsible to ensure that staff maintain client records including EHR, statistical data and all other required documentation adhering to policies, procedures and timelines
•Review and analyze program data and outcomes; prepare reports as required for contracts and other agency dashboards
•Proactively monitor cleanliness of all DIC program areas and report maintenance concerns to Facilities Manager. Responsible for oversite of BWC-owned DIC vehicle and ensure system for safety check, cleanliness and reporting of any repair needs to Facilities Manager
•Hold teams accountable for annual performance goals and support identification of professional development opportunities to expand skills and competencies
•Contribute ideas as part of the leadership team during Program Operations committee meetings keeps Bill Wilson Center as leader in working with transitional age youth to end homelessness
•Oversee coordination and alignment within the team as well as across teams, including management of annual grants and budgets and implementation of consistent grant making processes and procedures
Stakeholder Engagement
•Build and maintain relationships with grantors, community stakeholders and neighbors
•Identify and evaluate opportunities to partner with key stakeholder that will enable BWC to achieve its goals and advance its mission, through grantmaking and initiative work
•Represent the organization to public audiences and external partner
