Maintain daily operation of house in absence of House Manager
Ensure thorough completion of house chores and submission of Chore Verification to HM
Responsible for safe, clean, secure and welcoming environment, free of clutter and fire hazards
Assist residents with proper room cleanliness.
Assist residents with keeping pre-arranged appointments.
Answers and delivers telephone messages in a clear and concise manner.
Assist residents in all areas of meal planning and preparation.
Collection and distribution of daily mail; Maintenance of staff/resident mailboxes (i.e. mailbox labels)
Utilize RA Daily Checklist for day and night room inspection
Maintaining an organized basement storage area, discarding donations when necessary
Maintaining First-Aid Kit
Managing all emergencies that may arise and following proper protocol
Medication monitoring/fill weekly boxes
Mentoring assigned resident
Assist with resident food shopping and instruction on how to properly shop.
Issuing appropriate restrictions to residents at time of infraction
Facilitating in-house class on Parenting and Covering other Groups that are asked of you
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of basement group/meeting/learning area
Ensuring residents are adhering to Good Counsel policies found in the Daystar Handbook
Performing all other requested duties as necessary
Overseeing Residents cooking in the kitchen, check the menu to be sure all and adequate food supplies are on hand and Supervising Dining Room at supper time
Submission of donation/contributions, vehicle log, census, and visitor log forms before the 10th of each month.
Responsible for brake room and staple order every month.
Assists with child care while residents attend program/school.
Instruct residents in various child care methods to improve parenting skills.
Affirms each resident in her ability to parent her child.
Responsible for room preparation and welcoming new residents to the home.
Responsible for assisting new residents with the daily routine of the home.
Assists new residents with child care issues.
Acquaints new residence w/ the “ins and outs” of the home (cooking, laundry, etc.)
Complete appropriate charting and file keeping of Incident Reports (as needed), Resident’s medication chart, Resident Appointment Calendar, Maintaining Consequence Log on monthly basis, Maintaining Chore Verification binder, Completion of Life Skills Evaluation form
Must have 6 months—1 year of direct care of child, adults and/or youth experience.
Knowledge and skills in community and residential care preferred
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Flexible scheduling for various shift opportunities.
Valid Driver’s License
