Provide in-home, family-centered, strength based, child abuse prevention services and deliver the Parents As Teachers (PAT) program. Work with community resources in a systemic and collaborative approach
Essential Job Functions:
-Deliver home based services to families with effective interpersonal skills such as: child development information, parenting education, supportive counseling, family need assessment, family goal planning and community resource referrals.
-Design and deliver recruitment activities for families in the targeted service area.
-Retain referred families by developing supportive positive relationships.
-Maintain a caseload of 25 active PAT families. PAT families must receive a minimum of a one hour home visit twice per month.
-Develop and facilitate parent education classes, workshops, support and play groups.
-Demonstrate knowledge of community resources by providing information and referrals.
-Network in community and utilize local assets to strengthen families.
-Actively participate in collection and analysis of program data to develop ongoing quality assurance measures and procedures.
-Encourage and contribute to positive, effective community collaborative relationships.
-Assess risk of child abuse and neglect and provide appropriate interventions with families.
-Perform other activities related to services and flexible to program changes.
-All new hires are required to go through mandated orientation.
-Comply with Agency Annual Training requirements.
-Part time employees training requirements will be pro rated according to the hours worked.
Primary work location – Norristown Family Center
-70% community and/or providing in-home service, 20% in office, 10% attending community meetings and events
-Available to work evenings and/or weekend hours
-Must be available a minimum of one weekday evening until 8 pm.
-Work flexible hours as required
-Valid Driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
Satisfactory criminal and child abuse clearances
-Daily access to vehicle for use with home visits and attendance at meetings.
-High School diploma plus minimum four years experience
-BSW / related bachelor’s degree plus minimum three year experience
-MSW / related Master’s Degree
Parents As Teacher (PAT) certified or available to attend PAT training
