Description
Position Function:
Provides therapeutic services in order to insure the successful implementation of the children’s individual treatment plan.

Essential Job Functions:
-Must pass CPR and First Aid Training.
-Must pass Safe and Positive Training.
-Responsible for timely, periodic submission of all required clearances and physicals.
-Provides direct service delivery of individual psychotherapy to assigned children/families in accordance with the individual Life Plan.
-Provides direct services delivery of group therapy to assigned groups.
-Provides direct service delivery of family therapy at the agency, home and /or community setting in accordance with the children/families Life Plan.
-Directly implements components of the Life Plan developed in conjunction with the treatment team, as appropriate.
-Provides consultation regarding children/families’ mental health needs and progress to other treatment team members to insure the children/families’ successful participation in the full treatment program, as specified in the Life Plan.
-Completes all required documentation in timely fashion and in required formats, including, but not limited to, progress notes and treatment progress summaries.
-Serves as a member of the treatment team. Attends Life Plan reviews of assigned children/families, provides input into recommendations for ongoing Life Planning.
-Maintains ongoing communication with other agency team members who works with the children/families regarding progress of children/families on Life Plan goals.
-Completes monthly Concurrent Reviews with the managed health care provider.
-Provides emergency evaluation and intervention when critical situations arise requiring such interventions, as assigned by the Director of Campus Clinical Services.
-Participates in clinical supervision and staffing training programs, as assigned.
-Is available for clinical on-call rotation as assigned by Director of Campus Clinical Services.
-Carries out all other duties assigned by program supervisor to insure successful implantation of the children/families’ Life Plan.

Education/Experience Requirements:
-Master’s degree in a mental health field with at least two (2) years of experience in a child and adolescent mental health or chemical dependency setting, child welfare or juvenile justice setting. Preference for residential experience.
-Preferable the Therapist be a licensed mental health professional and trained in DBT.


Training Requirements:
-All new hires are required to go through mandated orientation.
-Comply with Agency Annual Training requirements.
-Work Environment and Primary Work Locations:
-Will vary in accordance with individual children/families needs.
-Must be available for a flexible schedule. Primarily during regular business hours with potential for some evening and weekend work on an as needed basis.
-In general, direct therapy services will be delivered during hours that are least intrusive to the child’s overall program.


Physical Considerations:
-Moderate physical exertion required.
-Ability to maintain composure and effectively intervene in any crisis situations with youth.
-Valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside in and proof of car insurance.

Skills
This position requires an understanding of at risk youth, and trauma-informed practice, the ability to be able to work on a team and provide supervision to interns, the ability to multi-task as well as the ability to effectively communicate with children and adolescents. Preference given to candidates with training and experience in evidence-based practices.
