Job Summary:
The position hires, trains, and provides administrative and clinical supervision to Crisis Assessment Specialists and crisis line staff. The position also completes crisis assessments onsite and in the community as needed. The position will be responsible for managing Sertoma’s intake line and answering intake calls. The position ensures all processes and procedures are followed regarding assessments and the 24/7 crisis line by ensuring proper staffing for the crisis line. The position requires evening and weekend availability.

Position Responsibilities:

Hire, train, and provide administrative and clinical supervision to CMHC Crisis Assessment Specialists and crisis line staff.
Manage CMHC’s Intake Line and assure all new referrals are scheduled and linked with appropriate services.
Provide oversight and management of crisis line by creating shift schedules, providing daily quality assurance of crisis calls, etc.
Administer assessments to consumers onsite and in the community as needed. Complete all required documentation of services provided in compliance with Rule 132 and Rule 140 and agency policy, ensuring that the philosophy of recovery is integrated in all aspects of service planning and delivery.
Build and maintain relationships with local mental health providers, community psychiatric hospitals, law enforcement, and other support services to expand and enhance support to individuals served.
Coordinate and assist with marketing of CMHC services through presentations to potential consumers, family members, and referral sources at various onsite and offsite locations.
Promote awareness of mental health both internally and externally.
Maintain on-call availability for crisis line clinical support during evenings and weekends. Provide coverage for crisis line as needed.

Master’s degree in human services related field required. LPHA required within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of one year experience working with individual with psychiatric disorders and working knowledge of the recovery model preferred.
Minimum of one year experience working with and assessing individuals in crisis.
Valid Illinois driver’s license and documentation of current auto insurance, with good driving record and car available.
Minimum of one year previous supervisory experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Employee is required to remain compliant with all state/federal, position, agency, accreditation, and funding source training/licensing requirements including but not limited to CPR and CPI.
Employee is required to possess the skill and ability to utilize all applicable technology and computer programs related to his/her position.
