Bill Wilson Center is proud to partner with the County Probation Department in supporting the PIVOT (Providing Individual Valuable Opportunities Together) program to provide services for young adults coming out of detention facilities who are working hard to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

BWC has a NEW opportunity for Residential Counselor to be the primary support person for 3-5 of these young adults, who range in age from 18-25, as they re-enter community life. The available schedule is:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm (25 hrs/wk – Part Time)
                
The young adults receive supportive services and case management for Credible Messenger Mentoring Services, Reentry Navigation Services, pro-social activities and employment services from several other local community agencies. The role of BWC’s Residential Counselor is to teach and model self-care, household maintenance, independent living skills like laundry and cooking and problem solving in a shared living environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•        Provide mentorship and coaching that promotes a healthy and safe environment through weekly chore assignments, meal planning, laundry and working together in a shared living environment
•        Ensures safety of all participants by monitoring curfews, adhering to visitation hours for guests and holding young adults accountable to house rules and expectations
•        Overall management of home, ensuring safety, monitoring activities of up to 5 young adults at a time and encouraging sense of community and comradery in home

Skills
Bachelor preferred, 1-2yrs related experience and/or training. Experience working with culturally diverse youth required. Current CPR and First Aid Certification required (or complete within 30 days of hire). Valid CA drivers license with access to a personal vehicle with current Ins.   Fingerprinting, TB test & CPR/First Aid required.
