Description
WIHD seeks to hire a full-time, bilingual Spanish speaking clinician to join its Child Welfare Program. Clinician will provide home-based, trauma-informed services to families whose children are in foster care and moving towards reunification as well as following discharge from foster care. Additionally, the clinician will provide individual, group and family therapy to children in foster care and their families, including hands-on parent training to parents planning for the return of their children from foster care at WIHD in Valhalla. The position also includes working in close collaboration with the Department of Social Services and other service providers

Skills
Interested candidates must have a graduate degree in a related field (social work, mental health counseling,) and be licensed to practice in New York State. A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience is required in one or more of the following areas: group work, working with individuals impacted by trauma, working with diverse, at-risk families and/or children and providing home-based services. Experience working within the child welfare/foster care system is highly desirable.

Notes
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to work independently with minimal supervision, solid interpersonal skills and a creative approach to engaging resistant clients as well as a strong interest in working with vulnerable adults and children. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout Westchester County.
