NVFS' Community Housing portfolio includes a number of local and regional programs designed to support individuals and families obtain and maintain housing stability in Northern Virginia. The Community Housing programs have an annual budget of over $7 million, 65% of which is direct assistance for rental subsidy. In addition to case management, the programs also include supportive services such as career navigation and benefits counseling to provide a more comprehensive and holistic approach to service delivery. Community Housing programs are administered in collaboration with local and State partners, as well as other local nonprofit organizations. The programs serve low income and other vulnerable populations across the northern Virginia region.

The Program Director's responsibilities include the overall strategy and general management of Community Housing programs including service development and delivery, staff/volunteer management, contract and financial management, and fundraising. The Program Director is responsible for the successful development, implementation, and achievement of program outcomes and goals. The Director is expected to maintain remain abreast of the changing needs and dynamics associated with Community Housing services/programs and is encouraged to be aware of the current needs of the community more broadly. The Program Director develops new initiatives and sustainable alternative revenue generating opportunities that are in line with the NVFS mission and works collaboratively across all Agency program areas to integrate services and maximize operational efficiency. The Program Director represents NVFS externally and participates in local/regional task forces and other community partnership meetings.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred.
    At least five (5) years’ experience providing direct supervision of staff.
    At least five (5) years’ program management experience specializing in human services.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    Oral and written fluency in English
