Located downtown San Jose, Bill Wilson Center’s Drop In Center (DIC) is a one-stop navigation center where homeless and/or street youth and young adults (ages 16-25) receive basic need support including shelter, with case management, behavioral health services, housing assistance, independent living skills, and help with employment and education. Staff also provide outreach into the community to locate homeless youth and young adults who may not seek help. We are in need of a Program Manager to provide supportive leadership and ensure a welcoming and supportive space.

•        Incorporate youth voice and choice in all levels of operation
•        Supervise and support 11 full-time staff. Responsible for the overall operations of the navigation center and shelter facilities
•        Develop, coordinate, and implement Drop In Center and shelter services for homeless street youth including outreach, basic needs, crisis intervention, case management, behavioral health services, employment and education assistance, advocacy and housing assistance
•        Direct and oversee all grants, capacity building, and goals and outcomes
•        Contribute program ideas as part of the leadership, keep Bill Wilson Center as leader in the community for working with youth and young adults to end homelessness
•        Review and analyze program data and outcomes; prepare reports as required for contracts and other agency dashboards
•        Build and maintain relationships with grantors, community stakeholders and neighbors
•        Represent the organization to public audiences and external partners
•        An understanding of humility and respect for on-the-ground social justice and racial equality work with homeless and street youth. Enthusiasm for creating space for youth to be at the forefront of advocacy work
•        Knowledge of behavioral health and social justice issues affecting youth and young adults.
•        Experience providing services to clients of various racial, ethnic, socioeconomic backgrounds or sexual identity who are overrepresented in homeless populations such as Black, Latinx, and/or LGBTQ.
•        Excellent communication skills, and background working in different cultural environments. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates highly desired.

(B.A.) in Social Work or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience (MA/MSW preferred). Minimum two years’ experience managing a homeless/street youth program, preferably in a drop in center setting or street outreach, highly desired. Valid CA drivers license with access to a personal vehicle with current Ins. Fingerprinting, TB test & CPR/First Aid required.
