National EAP is seeking a FT highly skilled and experienced mental health clinician who is interested in working in the EAP (Employee Assistance Program) field. Candidates must demonstrate an excellent ability to conduct public presentations and facilitate a variety of group skill training. It is preferential that candidates have experience dealing with workplace crises and be knowledgeable of workplace issues Human Resources face. Candidates must be available to work a varied schedule including two evenings per week.
The EAP Specialist provides behavioral health intervention services to employees who are part of an EAP program. The EAP Specialist builds strong company client relationships and is responsible for excellent account management. The EAP Specialist also delivers on-site EAP education, management training and group training and works as part of a cohesive team to accomplish the mission of National EAP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct EAP assessments, deliver short-term solution focused counseling and referrals to individuals and family members as necessary
Provide intensive EAP intervention, counseling & monitoring services to clients as needed
Coordinate with outside providers including EAP affiliates, medical providers, substance abuse facilities, psychiatric care etc.
Build strong client relations with NEAP client companies
Ensure regular ongoing communication with Human Resources regarding compliance of Employees who have been administratively referred
Conduct onsite skill based training and Critical Incident Response at client locations
Maintain up to date information on all client and organizational activity in EAP database, calendars, etc.
Provide HR & Management Consultation addressing employee concerns and workplace issues
Attend various tradeshows and networking meetings to promote NEAP & provide education regarding our services
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to provide effective short term solution focused counseling
Knowledge of the EAP field
Excellent public speaking and training facilitation skills
Excellent critical thinking, judgement and decision making abilities
High boundaries with clients
Strong computer and/or technical skills, specifically proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PP & Outlook
Skilled in written and verbal communication with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy
Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to handle client relationship management, provide strong client consultative skills and work in a team environment
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
Effective problem-solving skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize
Frequently in an office environment and need to be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Periodic travel to client locations via own vehicle in the Long Island, NYC and surrounding areas.
Periodic delivery of training/education seminars that require standing for lengthy periods of time.
