Director of Social Services – Full time
Brockton Neighborhood Health Center is committed to Brockton and surrounding communities. We’re looking for a Director of Social Services to direct and manage the provision of social services, behavioral health and substance use services in the Health Center for patients and their families experiencing social and behavioral health problems caused or complicated by illness or high-risk behaviors.
The Director provides guidance and support to the social services team and directs the delivery of care to patients and their families for a broad spectrum of services to include psycho-social assessment and diagnosis, mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, education, chronic disease self-management, short term counseling, and information and referrals – services that are provided to ensure that patients have adequacy of health care, access to care, and enhancement of their physical and psychological well-being. The Director of Social Services directly supervises the Behavioral Health Integration Managers, the Behavioral Health Outpatient Manager and the Substance Use Services Manager. The Director is also part of the Senior Management Team at the Health Center and works closely with the COO, the CEO and the Board to implement the Strategic Plan for the Center.
This position requires great visibility in the community. A commitment to the Social Services Team and the ability to balance empathy along with strong management practice is essential. The successful candidate must have experience with grant and program management, strong clinical skills and knowledge of BH regulatory requirements.
Minimum requirement is LICSW with Master’s Degree in Social Work, LMHC with a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psy.D. or PhD. in psychology, Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited school, plus at least five years of direct clinical experience and two years of management experience. Must have extensive knowledge of benefits programs and of community resources. Strong clinical skills are a must with a particular emphasis on clinical assessment and crisis intervention. Must also have the ability to be a clear communicator and a strong client advocate.
