Example of Duties and Responsibilities
1. Works in collaboration with the direct care staff, placing agency, family members, caregivers and other supportive entities using the Core Practice Model.
2. Provides individual, group and family therapy
3. Formulates, implements and evaluates client’s therapeutic services
4. Provides crisis intervention
5. Participates in the on call duty, providing crisis intervention support to clients and their caregivers outside of normal work schedule.
6. Establishes positive, nurturing relationships with clients within professional boundaries and in accordance with agency policy.
7. Facilitates and participates in the In-Service staff training program, and facilitates
communication among the staff members.
8. Maintains thorough documentation including, but not limited to, intake documentation, progress notes and reports such as needs and service plans, progress reports, discharge reports, aftercare and transfer plans
9. Writes all documentation in accordance with the standards set by the agency, the State of California and Riverside County for Medi-Cal EPSDT and other funding sources.
10. Completes progress notes within 48 hours of the date of service.
11. Meets required productivity requirements.
12. Attends team meetings, case conferences, staff meetings, school meetings, child and family team meetings
13. Attends psychiatric consultations when indicated and is responsible to communicate to the staff various psychiatric concepts and recommendations made by the psychiatrist regarding the specific client.
14. Meets weekly with supervisor concerning client and program issues
15.   Works hours that are determined by the needs of the clients.
16.   Participates in peer reviews.
17. Adheres to agency safety protocols.
18.   Performs other duties within the social worker’s (facility therapist) scope of practice as noted by the supervising social worker.

1. Master's Degree from an accredited university in Psychology, Marriage and Family Child Counseling, Social Work or related field, minimum of one year experience in a residential setting.
2. Must have knowledge of child/adolescent development and treatment approaches effective in working with emotionally disturbed clients.
3. A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with troubled clients.
